Based at Dumfries Ice Bowl we are looking to fill 1x17 hour Leisure Attendant Post, which will cover a wide range of duties within the facility. This post is predominantly a Friday, Saturday, Sunday contract including early morning and evening work.
We require a passionate and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team carrying out general leisure attendant duties ensuring customer safety at all times including ice stewarding, communicating effectively with members of the public and other staff, undertaking cleaning duties and setting up and dismantling of sports equipment in a safe environment, assisting in the ice making process and assisting with general maintenance tasks.
You will assist in actively promoting Dumfries Ice Bowl and Leisure and Sport activities at all times.
Experience of working with the general public, children and customer care is essential and you will ideally have experience of working in a Leisure Centre. You must also be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. A First Aid certificate, basic leisure qualification and the ability to skate are desirable.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

This post is fixed term for up to 12 months.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
