You will be required to work 18.75 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.
Dumfries and Galloway Council are looking to recruit a Museum Attendant to work at the Kirkcudbright Tolbooth and Art Gallery.
This is a highly responsible, part-time post involving working front of house in a busy museum and art gallery. We need a reliable, trustworthy, personable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing a high standard of customer service. The role will involve greeting customers, answering telephones, providing customer information, maintaining records and dealing with retail sales and cashing up. The ability to multitask and work under pressure is necessary.
A high level of communication and customer care skills and experience of working in visitor services are essential.
A good standard of education and some local knowledge of the area would be an advantage.
Fixed Term (1 year) contract in the first instance.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
Hours of work are 10.30am-4pm on the following rota:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday.
The post entails significant periods of lone working.
