Dumfries and Galloway’s approach to education looks to combine the traditional values, ethos and atmosphere of this unique corner of Scotland with fresh 21st Century thinking.
St Joseph’s College is a popular secondary school situated in the town of Dumfries. As part of Scotland’s Schools for the Future programme the school campus has benefitted from a multi-million pound redevelopment programme in 2018 which included completely new Home Economics and Physical Education facilities. We are now looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced teacher to lead developments in Home Economics and Physical Education on a part-time basis in conjunction with the current substantive post-holder. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to play a strategic role in ensuring that we provide the best possible opportunities for all our pupils in these subject areas. In addition the promotion of health and wellbeing is central to the vision of the school and the appointee will work closely with other staff in the promotion of this.
Applicants are required to be fully registered in secondary education with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
