We are looking to recruit a Technical Technician, 21 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time) on a permanent basis to provide technical support to staff and students. You will be responsible for the provision of resources to facilitate practical learning. Salary banding is dependent on training and experience – please refer to Person Specifications for further details.
You must have a good standard of education, being educated to SCQF Level 6 or equivalent with an ongoing commitment or willingness to commit to Continuous Professional Development. Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and safe working procedures related to technical workshop environments is essential. You must be flexible and have the ability to work both independently as well as part of team. Good interpersonal skills are essential as is a full understanding of the need for absolute confidentiality.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
