An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manager Registered Services within the Learning Disability Service provided by Dumfries and Galloway’s Health & Social Care Partnership who supports adults who have a range of needs including learning/ physical disabilities and autism spectrum conditions. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Manager who will primarily be responsible for the operational line management of the 6 Adult Resource Centre Managers within the region offering day support to these adults.
This is a significant time of change within the Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership sector generally. As a Senior Manager, you will be part of a team committed to delivering high quality person-centred services putting Health & Social Care Standards at the heart of all we do. Reporting to the Social Work Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that services are delivered in line with legislation and good practice guidance, including quality compliance, self-evaluation and improvement based on The Care Inspectorate’s Quality Framework(s). Ensuring that services are well led and managed, you will also assist with the strategic development of the wider learning disability service and provide support to other elements of the service when needed, for example by undertaking quality compliance work. You will have a proven track record of leading and managing services and be committed to undertaking professional development.
In this post you will be required to work 36 hours per week 52.14 weeks per year.
You will be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and must hold a qualification at Degree or DipSW/CQSW/CSS or equivalent together with SVQ IV in Leadership or equivalent. A Post qualification award e.g. Learning Disability, Autism, Child Protection, Practice Teaching, MHO or equivalent is desirable. You will have a minimum of three years’ post qualifying experience in an appropriate field.

In addition to effective organisational, leadership and management skills, you will be a team player, committed to effective partnership working to develop innovative approaches to enable people to live fulfilled lives. You will have effective skills in using Microsoft applications.
Finally, you will be able to demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and initiative allied to strong professional integrity and a commitment to working as a member of the management team. You will need to think creatively and innovatively and be flexible in your approach and be accountable for your own work and that of your teams.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
