Reporting to the Quality Reablement, Care and Support Lead and Home Teams you will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of Health & Social Care Support Workers, providing high quality Reablement within available resources which meet the Health & Social Care Standards
It is essential that you have experience of working with customers/public and experience of supervising and supporting staff with an ability to develop an effective team working by influencing and leading staff.
An awareness of and the ability to promote partnership working across health and social care settings are also essential, as are IT skills;
Effective communication, organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise your own workload; good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
An SVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent and 2 years work experience in Health or Social Care is desirable, as are experience of recruitment, induction, training and staff development processes along with those relating to maximising attendance, risk assessment and health and safety are desirable.
You will be required to participate in a shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays and be available on standby duties as part of a rota with other colleagues.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
This post is Fixed term for 1 year. Secondment approval needed by Line manager.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
