Are you passionate about providing high quality swimming tuition and looking for a new challenge?
We have a rare opportunity for a self-motivated and Swimming Teachers to join our team at Annan Swimming pool to deliver swimming lessons within our Learn 2 Swim scheme
You will be required to work 4 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.
You will ideally possess a current Scottish Swimming Teaching qualification or STA equivalent. You will have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, reliable and have experience of teaching children and young people.
You will also have experience of following lesson plans and the ability to work with varying abilities of swimmers. You must have excellent Customer Care skills and the ability to work as part of a strong team.
Ideally you will have background knowledge of the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Scheme, and an understanding of Child Protection Issues. A First Aid Certificate and knowledge of current Health and Safety issues are desirable.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
Successful candidates must have a flexible approach regarding hours worked in order to suit the needs of the service. Holiday periods shall be fixed over the festive period and the remainder of the holiday year must be planned and flexible with the needs of the service.
