This is a key community-led economic development role within the Employability, Skills & Partnerships service leading on work to coordinate and provide employment and skills support across Dumfries and Galloway. This is a central role within the service delivering on key regional priorities of tackling poverty and reducing the disability employment gap.
The role supports our Local Employability & Skills Partnership to provide multi-agency collaborative working to maximise the effective use of resources available. Our partnership vision is that by 2025 Dumfries & Galloway will have a collaborative, effective and easily understood employability and skills system focused on positive outcomes which are person-centred and provide pathways to sustainable and fair work. The role leads on the development, implementation and delivery of both new and established services to support people into work and to progress within the workplace into sustainable and improved employment. The post holder will lead work building positive relationships with partners and stakeholders across employability and related services.
What we are looking for:
Experience in the development and delivery of employability and skills-related programmes is essential as is experience of collaborative working. You will have recent experience in people and change management and be able to motivate yourself and others effectively. Management of budgets and financial monitoring is also essential, and it would be beneficial to know about funding, evaluation and procurement. Dumfries and Galloway is a rural area and an understanding of rural issues is essential. You will be a confident communicator with a high level of presentation and supporting IT skills alongside effective workload management. Confidence and creativity in problem-solving within a complex environment are also essential. If this sounds like you, please get in touch.
