Team Leader Procurement (18/816)
Dumfries
£54,699 - £58,923
“This role sits at the heart of our Council’s Procurement Team, which has recently delivered an ambitious and transformative programme which modernised how we procure goods, services and works and prioritises continuous improvement within our new business arrangements. Our focus is on ensuring full compliance with procurement regulations, delivering meaningful cashable savings, and achieving sustainable, long‑term outcomes for our communities.
As Procurement Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Procurement and Commissioning Manager to further strengthen and enhance procurement activity across the Council. You will lead a programme of continuous improvement and provide day‑to‑day management, guidance and support to the wider procurement team and delegated procurers across the organisation.
You will deliver a client‑focused, professional service - offering strategic direction and expert advice on community wealth‑building initiatives, advancing the Council’s community benefits model, and improving data analysis and procurement reporting. A key part of the role will be ensuring strong compliance with Procurement Standing Orders and wider procurement policies across all areas of Council spend.
The post holder will play a key role in ensuring corporate procurement policy and strategy are maintained and acting as the first point of escalation for complex queries and issues.
We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities, deliver targeted savings, and consistently add value for the Council.”
