An excellent opportunity has arisen for an engineering Technician to assist in the administration of flood risk management related activities within Environment and Infrastructure principally complying with the requirements of the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009.
The post is based in Dumfries in the Council’s Flood Risk Management Team and you will be expected to support the team in delivering a high quality service to both the Council and external Clients.
You must have a minimum of 4 Standard Grades (grade 3 or above or equivalent) including Mathematics. A qualification to Higher level and/or ONC/HNC/HND/SVQ level 3 in civil engineering or related subject is desirable.
Experience of working in an office environment and in a team situation is desirable as is an understanding of health and safety requirements.
We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills who can work flexibly and is self-motivated and can show initiative.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement for this post. However if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transportation can be arranged.
Salary placing is dependent on experience and qualifications.
