Water Quality Officer

This is a fantastic new opportunity within the Environmental Health team. There is a total available budget for 54 hours per week. This could be one full time (36 hours) post and a second post at 18 hours per week, three 18 hours per week posts or any other combination within the available budget.
This is a key role in the delivery of the Council’s statutory duties relating to private water supplies. You will be required to carry out risk assessments of regulated supplies, investigate sample failures and respond to outbreaks and incidents.
Candidates looking for a career development opportunity will be supported through relevant training as long as they are already educated to SCQF Level 8 in science or a related discipline. A full, current driving licence is also required and the physical ability to access remote private water supplies safely.
The role will involve a combination of working outdoors, office work and some working from home with an office base in either Dumfries or Stranraer.
