This is an exciting opportunity to work with Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Environmental Health team.
You will join our Community Protection service which comprises the Environmental Health and Trading Standards teams. As a Pest Control Officer, you will be using your professional skills to deliver the Council’s statutory enforcement duties as well as providing a service to the public.
Requirements:
You will need to be trained to Level 2 of the British Pest Control Association certificate in Pest Management or be willing to work towards this.
Good interpersonal skills are crucial to this role, as it involves engaging with customers on a daily basis. The successful candidate will also have a good working knowledge of health and safety to ensure the safe handling of poisons.
You must be enthusiastic, and able to manage a varied caseload.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
There are office bases in Dumfries and Stranraer, and the successful candidate could work from either of these or from a suitably located home base on a hybrid working model.
