Teacher Nurture (Temporary)

We are seeking to appoint two suitably qualified and experienced practitioners to posts of Nurture Teacher for 35 hours per week for a period of up to 23 months. Applications for these positions would be welcomed from Primary and Secondary Registered Teachers

 

Successful candidates will work to develop and take forward Nurture principles within the Cluster where they are based. Postholders will work across the Early Learning & Childcare, Primary and Secondary sectors. The successful candidates will communicate a strong commitment to nurture and inclusion and be aware of the current policy landscape within this area. They will demonstrate experience in supporting and developing approaches to Nurture Practice across settings and schools. They will have experience of a wide range of pedagogical approaches and interventions and should be able to demonstrate how these have impacted on young people’s learning. The successful candidates will join a committed team who are strong in their desire to develop and take forward Nurture Principles and the D&G Framework for Inclusion. Candidates will display the skills required to work in partnership with pupils, parents/carers, school and cluster colleagues and with partners to ensure that Nurture Principles are embedded.

 

This position may be suitable for an Attachment, Line Management approval should be sought before applying for the positions.

 

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
