Job Description

The Building Standards Team has a key role in transforming the City and has been heavily involved in the delivery of the £1 billion project to transform Dundee into a world-leading waterfront destination. A key component of this project was the successful delivery of the Kengo Kuma-designed V&A Dundee, which has attracted international attention.
Further exciting and complex construction development opportunities lie ahead, with some forming part of the £300 million Tay Cities Deal. The Eden Project Dundee is a further example of Dundee’s bold and creative ambition.

You will be based in Dundee House and working from home, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

You will have Corporate Membership of RICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or equivalent level of demonstrable competence gained through experience.
You will have an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject area.Responsibilities
You will assist the Team Leader (Building Standards) in carrying out the City Council’s Statutory function as a Building Standards authority.The Individual
Experience in all aspects of the Building Standards role, including associated works covered under the Licensing Scotland Act and Civic Scotland Government Act; along with knowledge of the Building Scotland Act and associated statutory instruments and knowledge and understanding of future challenges to local authority building standards is essential.
You will have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative to manage a diverse caseload.
You will have good communication, IT and organisational skills and be committed to a high standard of customer care.
