Requirements

​You will have a post graduate qualification in educational psychology and current registration with the HCPC as an educational psychologist.

Responsibilities

The Educational Psychologist will be responsible for undertaking work required within the terms of the remit of the psychological service as prescribed by statutory legislation. The Educational Psychologist will carry out these duties in accordance with the policies and procedures laid down by the education authority, the Educational Psychology Service and the Health and Care Professions Council.

The Individual

You will have experience of participation in strategic projects within psychological services and the wider Council, evidence of reflective practices ​and effective work with schools/families/ partners and children. Effective planner and organiser, partnership working with the ability to think strategically, skills in negotiation, you will be a highly skilled communicator and presenter. A good listener, effective in collaborative and team working with the ability to take initiative and understanding of Local Authority context are essential. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
