You will have a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area (e.g. Social Work, Housing, Health, Education).Responsibilities
You will lead the development of partnership working between all agencies involved in the care and protection of vulnerable groups in Dundee, including leading the development of strategic plans and performance management approaches. You will provide professional support to relevant committees and individuals, ensuring that core responsibilities and key objectives are effectively discharged.
The portfolio within this specific post will have a focus on the provision of support to Dundee Children at Risk Committee (covering child protection, suicide prevention and violence against women), alongside cross-cutting areas of protecting people work including learning and organisational development and engagement, participation and voice.The Individual
You will have significant experience in a related field and experience of project management. You will have experience of multi agency working and in a lead officer/ chair of decision making groups. You will have excellent working knowledge of protection legislation, core operational processes and practices.
You will have the ability to analyse and present complex information, leadership skills, excellent oral and written skills, including presentation skills, good interpersonal skills and demonstrate ability to translate national strategy to local context.
You will have the ability to plan and develop objectives and monitor performance and outcomes, to lead on strategic planning and service development, influencing skills at a senior level and demonstrate empathy with vulnerable people. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to social justice, partnership working, participation and co-production.
You will have the ability to work outwith normal working hours and flexible approach to this.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
