Requirements

​You will have an SVQ4/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject area and/or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

You will manage on behalf of the Council the operational facilities provided under the Dundee Schools Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Contract and Hub Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) Contract and, work within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver future major capital projects, both Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) grant and conventionally procured capital funded projects. To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive service to ensure that projects are delivered safely on time, within budget and to meet the quality and operational requirements of the client departments.

The Individual

You will have the ability to monitor, audit and manage a facilities management helpdesk or similar to ensure compliance with contract obligations, work with design teams on new build projects to deliver effective operational management solutions. You will have proven record in providing technical and professional advice to design teams delivering major capital works . Experience of managing financial resources and appreciation of aspects relating to value for money, probity and accountability, of providing advice and support at senior/board level. You will have proven record of successful partnership and collaborative working with a range of public bodies, private and third sector. Experience of Risk Assessment, Health and Safety, CDM and business continuity responsibilities and issues are essential. You will have good written communication skills the ability to produce reports on relevant issues, good interpersonal skills with the ability to form positive working relationships at all levels. You will have proven decision-making ability based on the analysis of options, the ability to make recommendations based on sound risk management principles and contingency planning, capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines, satisfy political objectives and organisational priorities. You will have proven record and capacity to work unsociable hours when required, react to local emergencies and demonstrate commitment to, and achievement of, equality and diversity issues.
