Requirements

You will have a minimum of an HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Responsibilities

​You will provide a complete range of quantity surveying services to the Council and its service departments and to external public agencies, as directed by the Senior Manager for Capital Projects and Cost Management. You will represent the City Council on construction projects and maintenance services projects originating in the Division, ensuring compliance with professional standards as appropriate. You will be integral to the City Councils Delivery of Housing ECM Cyclical Maintenance programme, among other functions.

The Individual

You will have knowledge and experience as a Quantity Surveying technician with a good understanding of contract conditions, cost control and management skills in addition to a knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, including CDM. You will have good negotiating skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision displaying effective time management skills to achieve project objectives. Additionally you will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Office 365, Teams and Word. You will be able to provide advice and guidance to colleagues and have the ability to undertake site visits and surveys as required, including working at height.
