Job Description
The Learning Disability service in Dundee is a joint Social Work and Health team providing a range of services to adults with a learning disability which include housing support, care at home, respite and day opportunities.
Based at ​one of the Learning Disability Services within Dundee, you will work ​full time, ​37 hours per week.

You will hold SVQ level 2 or SVQ level 3. You must be willing to undertake training and present for SVQ level 3 and additional qualification relevant to the post as recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council or willingness to undertake.Responsibilities
You will assist in the day to day management of the resource and be responsible for the care of the service users and supervision of staff. You will be accountable for the management of the resource in the absence of the Team Manager.
You will assist in the day to day management of respite, day and community based services, responsible for the allocation of work and the support and supervision of staff who work directly with service users.
You will liaise with the Team Manager (Learning Disabilities) with regard to issues arising from the direct work with Service users. To be responsible for the management of services in the absence of the Team Manager, and ensure staff work within the National Care Standards at all times and adhere to the SSSC Code of Practice.The Individual
You will have experience of working with people with a learning disability and experience as a team member.
You will have the ability to work on own initiative, personal care skills. Good communication skills, written and oral. Excellent management and organisational skills, with the ability to lead a team.
You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
