Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House office, you will work 2 days in the office over 37 hours per week. Responsibilities

As a member of Corporate Finance Management Team, you will lead and manage the Tayside Pension Fund to ensure the delivery of a consistent, high-quality service which will drive excellent performance and raise standards in key pension fund areas. You will provide leadership ensuring the provision of a robust, efficient and professional Pensions service. You will ensure Dundee City Council, as administering authority, meets its statutory obligations in respect of Pensions Administration, Investments, Accounting, Risk Management and Governance including the strategic development and delivery of the pension fund functions. You will ensure pension services are aligned to the strategic objectives of the Tayside Pension Fund and ensure all statutory functions and other business critical activity is achieved as part of a high-quality service provision.

The Individual

You will have substantial post-qualification experience in a management role that includes work within the pensions and investment landscape along with knowledge of pension fund investment and/ or financial market. A proven ability to lead teams through transformational change, experience of complaints handling in a fast paced, high-profile environment and the ability to demonstrate strong expertise across all areas of risk management is essential. You will have excellent administrative and report writing skills along with communication skills including the ability to communicate contentious issues. You will have the ability to work under pressure and to strict timetables and be a credible leader with the ability to motivate and inspire staff. Experience of contract and relationship management and the ability to work with minimal managerial direction is essential. You will be committed to fulfilling continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for appropriate professional institute. A Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check is required.
