Based at Janet Brougham House, Turriff House or Menzieshill House, you will work part time at either 30 or 35 hours per week including dayshift, nightshift on a rota basis and weekends.
You will work as part of a team of Social Care Officers in one of our care homes for the elderly but may be asked to work in an alternative home/part of the service where required. The service provides support to those living in the care home with daily living tasks based on their individual needs. You may be required to work in other parts of the service as required.

Requirements
You will have SVQ Level 2 Care or have the ability to undertake and achieve.
Responsibilities
You will attend to personal needs of residents. Your duties will include physical tasks for example, helping with personal care tasks, administering medication, assisting residents to eat and other identified needs. Our aim is to create a supportive homely atmosphere where residents can achieve maximum independence but also receive any support they may need. You will also be required to be involved in social activities organised for residents. Shift pattern will include weekend working and night duty.
The duties as set out above include undertaking cleaning and other domestic duties as necessary.
The Individual
You will have proven experience in working with older people, people with dementia or people with physical disabilities.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to work as team member, to work alone and to use initiative. You will have assessment skills and a professional attitude to work.
You will have the ability to work various shift patterns including evenings, weekends and periodic rotation onto nights.
You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
