Job Description
Working in a hybrid style, based at home and office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
The post is located in a busy child protection and intake team, working in Seymour House, Dundee's multi-agency child protection building. The team will be involved in the "Bairns' Hoose" Tayside Pathfinder.

You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).Responsibilities
You will provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families. You will assist children and families to live safely in the community and so prevent reception into care. You will work with children in care towards rehabilitation with their families of origin or towards permanent placement with substitute families.The Individual
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of child care and protection practice, legislation and be committed to multi-agency working and bring a positive attitude to your work.
You will have experience of working with children and families and understand the needs of children who are ‘looked after’. You will have commitment to promotion of positive outcomes for children and young people.
You must be able to communicate effectively with children, involving families and carers in decision making processes. You will have the ability to undertake comprehensive assessments within given timescales.
You will be able to work beyond normal hours when needs of children and families require this.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
