Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. This is temporary fixed term for 6 weeks starting approximately August 2023. Requirements

​Working towards certificate, or diploma, or degree within higher education within the City of Dundee, (such as at the University of Dundee, or Abertay University, or Dundee & Angus College) in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

This six-week internship will provide an opportunity to work closely with our Sustainability and Climate Change team at Dundee City Council to develop and execute outreach strategies that help us connect with our community and build the Sustainable Dundee brand through Hello Lamp Post Dundee. Hello Lamp Post Dundee is a newly adopted project, involving a two-way communication platform that can reach members of the community, using their mobile phone. This is a city-wide project engaging Dundee citizens in Climate Change and sustainability across 11 different topics across 100 items of signage. We are seeking a highly motivated student to support our efforts in engaging with the public and fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders across the City.

The Individual

You will have experience of working within a team, knowledge of sustainable development issues, particularly climate change. You will have the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods including oral and written, the ability to research and write clear and concise reports with recommendations. You will have experience with social media platforms and digital communications, experience of information management, database and or spreadsheet skills along with IT Skills, including experience of Microsoft Office packages.
