Job Description

The role of the post holder within the team is instrumental in ensuring the flow of communication, from a variety of sources projecting a positive, professional image for the whole function and in particular when acting as first point of contact for the Service.

 

To be the first point of contact for service users, patients and visitors to the Service, ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, providing a positive image, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.

 

The post holder will undertake routine data input and provide comprehensive clerical assistance to operational and clinical teams. The post holder will work proactively on own initiative with a flexible and positive attitude in conjunction with other team members.

 

The post holder will be required to work flexibly to cover staff absences, and any periods of particular pressure.

 

The office supports the delivery of a range of social work and NHS services, across a range of disciplines. The post holder will provide a customer service role, directing service users, patients and visitors to their designated appointment and / or provide advice, support and sign posting as required.

 

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

This is a part time, permanent post based within H&SCP Business Support.

Work Pattern - Week 1 - Mon/Tues & Week 2 - Mon/Tues/Wed

Annual Salary - £12,976 - 13,586

The workstyle for this post is ‘Fixed’ - 80-100% of your time at a single office base or work location.

You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 4 and 5 days per week.

The admin base for this post is The North West Area Centre, Kilmarnock.
