Job Description

Support the Head of Service in the strategic management, development and performance of services taking a lead role in delivering organisational change that seeks to embed a culture and practice of the Health and Social Care Partnership in order to ensure the delivery of the Partnership’s key objectives, specifically in relation to the Community Plan; Educational Services Strategic Plan; Single Outcome Agreement and Community Health Care Plans.

The post holder contributes to the Senior management team for Community Health & Care Services and will assist the Head of Service in achieving service objectives and supporting operational delivery working within the East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership’s purpose, values and commitments.

The post holder is key to ensuring the Service meets its commitment to the delivery of the quality strategy and world class services. As such the post holder will accept delegated accountability for the delivery of safe standards of community health and social care ensuring a focus on service user safety, effective management of resources, continuous improvement, staff training and development and education and research.

The post holder will provide leadership to ensure the delivery of service user care and will assume a leadership role across the multi-disciplinary team for a variety of issues as agreed with the Head of Service.

Responsible for a specific delegated span of control, the Senior Manager will manage a range of Community Health and Social Care resources and secure operational delivery of the services, ensuring optimum use of available resources in achieving safe standards of care.

Provide professional and operational leadership to the services as delegated, specifically Social Work practice (including deputising for the Chief Social Work Officer), and provide professional leadership for the Health & Social Care Governance arrangements.

 

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Additional Information

This is a full time permanent post based within Locality Services.

Hours of work - Mon-Thu 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-4pm

The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50% -79% of your time in an office location/ multiple work locations.

You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home.

The admin base for this post is The Johnnie Walker Bond, Kilmarnock.

Selection Process

Stage One – Longleet – This will take place week commencing TBC.

This stage will consider the criteria set out in the person specification for qualifications and experience.

Stage Two – Assessment Centre – This will take place week commencing TBC.

Only those whose evidence meets the highest standard expected for this role across all essential selection criteria will be shortlisted for attendance at the assessment centre.

Stage Three – Shortleet – This will take place week commencing TBC

This stage will consider the results of the Assessment Centre with candidates who are successful in the assessment process being invited to the final stage.

Stage Four – Final Interview and Presentation – This will take place week commencing TBC.

This stage will involve a panel interview and a presentation designed to assess your experience and leadership behaviours.

Salary Information

The successful candidate will have the option of being appointed on either East Ayrshire Council or NHS Ayrshire & Arran terms and conditions.

• EAC 35hrs per week Annual Salary - £67,959 - £74,274

• NHS 37.5hrs per week Annual Salary - Band 8B £67,285 - £71,978
