Job Purpose

Manage the Traffic and Road Safety section reporting to the Traffic and Road Safety Manager in the effective day-to-day management and implementation of statutory regulations and legislation related to roads, traffic and transportation engineering schemes across the Alliance in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

Additional Information

This is a temporary full time post and the admin base at The Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.

The hours of work are 35 hours per week to be worked Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9am - 4pm

The full time salary of this post is between £47,848 - £52,325 per annum.

This is a temporary post up until 31st March 2026.

The workstyle for this post is Flexible - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments. It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations.
