Job Summary
This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide leadership support and guidance in the day to day operations of Adult Day Care Services: The Allander Resource Centre, Outlook and Outreach Learning disability day services and Local Area Coordinators; ensuring compliance with legislation and National Standards and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
The post provides day to day professional support and guidance to an array of employees within Adult Services ensuring a positive team work approach which is guided by best value and promotes the council’s corporate planning priorities. There is an expectation that the manager will contribute to the strategic progression and development of day services, take a lead role in the council’s autism strategy, contribute to the council’s employment strategy, support effective transitions and contribute to the social work training group.
The role interacts with Elected Members, Managers and employees within other Council services, NHS employees and managers, GP’s, Trades Unions, external providers, legislative and regulatory bodies including The Care Inspectorate & National/Public Sector ADSW Working groups.
The role also has responsibility for day service budgets, and an expectation to manage these effectively.
We require someone with extensive management experience, a sound knowledge of learning disabilities, autism and neurodivergence and would prefer evidence of a track record or experience in service improvement and development.
A minimum of an SVQ4, Registered Managers Award and/or equivalent experience or relevant professional qualification is required

PVG/Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria.
Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
