Job Summary
Salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours. These positions are temporary.
Position 1 - 27.5hours per week - Monday to Friday - 5.5hrs per day.
Position 2 - 9.3hrs per week - Thursday 8.50am to 3.05pm, Friday 8.50am to 1.00pm
Position 3 - 16.5hrs per week - Monday & Tuesday - 8.50am to 3.55pm, Wednesday 8.50am to 1.00pm.
You will provide support to young people with additional support needs within Boclair Academy (and our various primary and secondary schools as required).
You will be responsible for the personal care needs of pupils and, under the direction of the class/subject teacher, you will help pupils with specific learning activities to follow instructions and organise their work. When required you will provide supervision for pupils out with the classroom e.g. in the playground, corridors, dining area, during PE and organised school trips.
You will have a pleasant, tolerant manner and a proven capacity to establish positive relationships with children and young people. Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs, and an interest in their development, is essential.
A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable.

PVG/Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria
Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
