The Home Care Service provides care in the home of Adults and the Elderly across the whole of East Lothian who need assistance and encouragement to carry out daily living tasks.

The Care Support Organiser plays a crucial part in organising and overseeing service delivery in all aspects of home care and the emergency care services.  ;The Care Support Organiser manages a team of staff and is responsible for the supervision of the staff team as well as ensuring that the training and development needs of each individual staff member is met. The Care Support Organiser also ensures that the duties are allocated to the care workers and to ensure maximum flexibility within their teams at all times.

The care support organiser is responsible for assessing services and completing risk assessments when packages are requested and also ensuring that the packages are regularly reviewed to ensure these are appropriate for individual service users.
In addition, the Care Support Organiser carries out quality assurance checks with staff and service users to ensure that the service continues to perform to a high standard.
The Care Support Organiser is required to respond sensitively and flexibly to a wide range of individual Service User situations and have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.  Care Support Organisers work in partnership with a variety of Health and Social Care Professionals and report directly with the Home Care Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team within a Health and Social Care Partnership.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a caring nature and excellent communication  & IT skills, previous experience managing staff in a busy environment and experience and knowledge in working in a Health and Social Care Partnership setting.  Due to the nature of these posts, flexibility is required at all times.

Job Details

To be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of a Home Care Service Provision within the Home Care Services Team for a specified area in accordance with statutory obligations and Council policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
HNC Social Care or equivalent level qualification and the SQA level 3 PDA at SCQF Level 7 in Supervision.

SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration as soon as possible and this must be achieved within six months of your start date.

Driving Licence 
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
