We are recruiting 3 posts for our day services and respite service based in Haddington. Tynebank supports adults with a learning disability and complex needs in a centre based setting.

Hardgate provides a respite service for adults with complex needs and operates across the week and includes overnights. Staff working at Hardgate will require SSSC registration.

Job Details

To deliver high quality Day Services which meet the assessed needs of individual service users, promoting independence and enhancing East Lothian’s role as a provider of learning disability day services, in accordance with the values and principles of the National Care Standards, and within the policies and procedures of the Council.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Essential for Qualified Post:
HNC in Social Care or SVQ3 or equivalent and be able
to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through
previous experience.

Essential for Unqualified Post: General standard of education e.g. SVQ Level 2/
Highers (including English) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.

SSSC Registration
SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role once it is open to Day
Services staff. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant
section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration as soon as
possible and this must be achieved within six months of your start date.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
