We are looking for an experienced IT Specialist with strong hands-on expertise across the Microsoft 365 platform. Working within the Infrastructure & Security Team, you will act as a subject matter expert for Microsoft 365, providing technical leadership to maintain a secure, resilient and sustainable environment.
You will play a key role in modernising legacy services, driving adoption of Microsoft 365 capabilities and helping the organisation maximise value from its investment in cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the Microsoft 365 architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
- Work closely with project teams to design, integrate and develop Microsoft 365 services and solutions.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Review the Microsoft 365 environment and implement improvements based on industry best practice, security standards and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with Information Security teams to ensure compliance, risk management and security requirements are met.
- Provide technical leadership and specialist expertise for projects, service improvements and new technology implementations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Support the development of governance frameworks and operational processes for Microsoft 365 services.
Skills and Experience
You will have significant experience designing and supporting Microsoft 365 solutions, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Microsoft security technologies. You will possess strong knowledge of cloud platforms, enterprise integrations, governance frameworks and security best practices.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance strategic planning with practical delivery and operational support.

Job Details
To work as a senior member of the IT Infrastructure & Security team with a primary focus on leading the strategic design and development of the Council’s server, storage and cloud infrastructure to enable Council wide digital transformation.
The key areas of responsibility are:
• Providing specialist high level IT advice and guidance to Council management, services, and colleagues on all aspects of server, storage and cloud technologies.
• Supervising and organising the day to day development and support work of the team.
• Working with Service Departments to bring about transformational change.
• Creating specifications of requirements and running procurement exercises.
• Providing Level 3 IT support
• Plan and organise development sprints for the team
• Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are developed and applied.

Level 1 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
