We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and committed member of staff to continue to progress our vital work to bring better outcomes for our communities through community planning and tackling poverty. Experience of working with communities, engagement and Scottish policy context is essential in representing East Lothian Council and the Community Planning Partnership in national strategic groups. The post holder will take a lead role in our Children's Strategic Partnership, updating and reporting on our Children and Young People Service Plan as well as coordinating our Poverty Working Group and supporting working groups to meet our Poverty Plan. Working with the East Lothian Community Planning Partnership to help address poverty and inequality is also key part of this post and the development and implementation of the Participation and Engagement Strategy This role is temporary for 12 months.

Please Note:

Job Details

To take the lead role in the administration of the Children’s Strategic Partnership (CSP) and supporting working groups and support the CSP to implement, review, evaluate and update the East Lothian Children and Young People Services Plan.

To assist in the development of partnership arrangements for the strategic planning and delivery of the Children and Young People Services Plan’s outcomes through other relevant Plans.

To take the lead role in the convening of the East Lothian Poverty Working Group (PWG) and supporting working groups and support the PWG to implement, review, evaluate and update the East Lothian Poverty Plan. Lead on projects that will accelerate poverty reduction in East Lothian and embed a lived experience approach.

To take the lead role in the development and implementation of the Participation and Engagement Strategy, leading on the evaluation, co-production, design and implementation of the East Lothian Partnership Participation and Engagement Strategy.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Degree level qualification or equivalent in a social science or arts and humanities subject and/ or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
