We are seeking a flexible and self-motivated individual to join our roads operations team to supervise and organise the work force in the day to day operations. You will oversee the management and administration of the roads depot and have responsibility for the day to day supervision of individual road workers and teams of roadworkers ensuring allocated tasks are completed properly, on time, and in accordance with instructions provided. In addition, you will proactively support the development and continuation of a multi-skilled workforce, and monitor/supervise work tasks related to the maintenance and construction of roads and associated infrastructure. You will also be required to contribute to the Council’s winter maintenance activities, including gritting, snow clearance, and responding to flooding and other out of hour’s incident.
You will be educated to HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering or related discipline and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Job Details
The post holder will support the Team Manager – Roads Operations in the planning, delivery and development of the full range front line Road Services operations, maximising efficiency of service delivery within specific standards and approved budgets and in accordance with the Council’s obligations as the local Roads Authority and its policies and plans with a commitment to achieve best value.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
