The Roads Service is seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual to join its Traffic and Lighting Section.

You will preferably be working toward or be educated to HNC/Diploma or degree level in an appropriate discipline and have experience in a number of the following disciplines: active and sustainable travel; safety around schools; community engagement; asset management; maintenance and renewal of traffic and lighting street furniture and signs; road safety; traffic management through Traffic Regulation Orders; decriminalised parking and be familiar with legislation relevant to these disciplines.

The successful applicant is expected to have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines as part of a team or on their own initiative. It would be advantageous for candidates to have a local authority background.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
