You will be responsible for ensuring that a quality catering service is delivered to all customers within allocated sites whilst ensuring East Renfrewshire Council remains compliant with the Schools (Health promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2020, Setting the table guidance, Healthy working lives, better eating better learning, whilst contributing to service objectives. Adhering to council policies to ensure the service complies with Healthy and Safety legislation, internal audit, Environmental health legislation, and Procurement and HR guidance.
You will also ensure that all activities concerning the provision of the catering service and civic events including food preparation and cooking, menu planning, portion control, customer liaison, management of employees and staff training; control of hygiene and health and safety; financial management, ordering of supplies, budgetary control; and administrative tasks appropriate to the post.
You should have catering management experience and relevant cooking skills and an understanding of the needs of the type of clients catered for and together with good communication skills and ability to manage a team. A City and Guilds Catering qualification or similar would be an advantage.
