East Renfrewshire Council is looking for an enthusiastic Information Governance Assistant to join our Information Governance Team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in information management and digital transformation.

This role supports the Council's information governance functions, including Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SARs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), data incident management, and maintenance of the Information Asset Register. The postholder will also provide information governance support for digital systems, including Microsoft 365, and help promote good data protection and information management practices across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with a degree, equivalent qualification, or relevant experience, along with knowledge of UK GDPR and information rights legislation. You will have strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain current and emerging data protection and FOI requirements. In return, we offer the opportunity to develop specialist expertise, contribute to the Council's digital transformation programme, and benefit from a supportive environment with ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

*Hybrid employees are considered workplace based first, but they will have a level of flexibility to work from home up to 40% of their working week, if it is not to the detriment of their current tasks, team requirements or service needs.
