Working closely with key stakeholders, you will lead technical teams within a complex and fast-moving environment, and be able to overcome technical challenges through the application of innovative and secure technical solutions that meet business needs.

Co-ordinating the Councils’ response to any cyber incidents will be a key aspect of this role, as is the responsibility for the deployment and pro-active management of the end-user device estate, while ensuring PSN compliance.

Extensive technical knowledge of a wide range of technologies is required including; networking (inc. IP telephony), storage, server administration, active directory, SSCM/Intune, cloud-based technology (Azure/AWS/M365) and relevant security standards & accreditation requirements (ISO 27001/Cyber Essentials Plus/PSN).

As a member of the Senior ICT Management Team, you will have the ability to deal with people confidently at all levels and to play a strategic role in influencing the Council’s information security and digital risk posture.

You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to discuss technical concepts, identify project implementation issues and work with highly technical teams to remove barriers to project success. A key aspect of the role is to provide guidance and continual professional development to your teams, whilst understanding business requirements and drivers for change. You will have well developed organisational skills and be able to manage workloads and competing priorities.

You will also contribute to the development of the Corporate Digital Strategy therefore you must have a clear understanding of how technology contributes to modern and efficient business or Council services.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40% of the time, where the needs of the service can still be met.
