East Renfrewshire Council’s corporate communications service is looking for a Print Room/Communications Modern Apprentice to join a busy team that manages media relations, digital media, marketing, print and design, publications, internal communications and events. The successful candidate will have good communication skills and be keen to develop knowledge of all aspects of the service.

Based mainly at the Council’s in-house Print Room in Thornliebank, they will work closely with the Print Room Supervisor to prepare and carry out print jobs for services across the council.

The Print Room/Communications Modern Apprentice will help ensure print jobs are of an acceptable standard before they are printed in the council’s in-house print room and distributed to our internal customers. This will also require working with other members of the wider Communications team, including communications officers and graphic designers, and liaising with other council departments which have requested material via an online ordering system. Full training will be given on any equipment which the post-holder has to operate.

There will also be an opportunity to work with other members of the Communications team who publish content to our website and social media channels, respond to customers on social media, undertake media photo-calls, offer a graphic design service, implement communications campaigns and provide support for council events.
