In East Renfrewshire HSCP, outcomes for individuals and families are at the heart of everything we do.

We recognise the importance of relationships with individuals, family carer and our local partners. We have a clear vision to shift the balance of care supporting people to live at home for as long as possible. We value what matters to people and strive to deliver person centred health and social care across East Renfrewshire.

Our Communities and Wellbeing Service is innovative, person centred and compassionate, and these are just some of the attributes East Renfrewshire HSCP is looking for in our Service Managers. We are looking for applicants with the right values and leadership experience to help us achieve the ambitions of the HSCP Strategic Plan.

As the service manager for our Communities and Wellbeing Service, you will be responsible for the operational delivery and strategic direction of a range of services including locality social work teams, adult support and protection team, and care home assurance including our local authority care home.

You will be involved in financial and other resource management, performance management, and service development and will be expected to promote targeted interventions within our integrated model of health and social work. You will also support colleagues in the development of initiatives, plans, and policies related to high standards of service provision.

Applicants will hold a professional social work qualification and be able to demonstrate considerable social work experience and previous supervisory experience. You will have excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.

* Hybrid employees are considered workplace based first, but they will have a level of flexibility to work from home up to 40% of their working week, if it is not to the detriment of their current tasks, team requirements or service needs.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.

This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting in your role).
