East Renfrewshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Support Officer to join our planning team. You will be involved in providing admin support to the development management function including arranging neighbour notifications and consultations, sending out acknowledgements, managing the general planning mailbox and issuing planning decisions. You will assist customers in person, in writing and on the phone with general administrative enquiries.
The role requires technical and IT skills (preferably including experience with the IDOX/UNIform case handling system). The post holder will also need good organisational skills as the job requires a number of administrative tasks to be carried out in order to allow the Council to undertake its statutory planning functions.
Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
