About the Role
Falkirk Council is transforming to meet the needs of our communities now and in the future. As part of this journey, we are seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded Accountancy Services Manager to lead our Accountancy Services teams and support delivery of strong financial governance across the organisation.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping financial management, supporting effective decision‑making, and ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met. You will provide expert financial and management accounting advice to senior managers across the Council.
About You
You will be an experienced finance professional with a strong track record of leading teams in a complex organisation and delivering high‑quality financial management.
Essential skills and experience include:
- CCAB (or equivalent) professional accountancy qualification
- Experience managing teams and delivering service improvements
- Strong understanding of legislation, accounting standards, and local government finance
- Ability to organise competing demands and work to strict deadlines
- Demonstrable experience in budget preparation, financial modelling, financial reporting, and advising senior stakeholders
