Could you be our next MECS Assessor within our MECS team?
In this role you will be involved in carrying out assessments for individuals who wish to access the MECS Service. You must be an experienced social service worker with commitment, patience and an understanding of ageing and disability and their effect on people’s lives. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working and ICT skills.
The post will involve explaining the service to individuals and their families, completing risk assessments and installing MECS alarm units. Training will be provided, both formal and informal.

The ideal person for this role will be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations.
The person must also possess…
- Previous experience working in a care setting and carrying out risk assessments
- Good communication skills
- A full driving licence
- Ability to organise their own workload
- Ability to use their initiative
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lone work
- ICT skills
- Knowledge of Telecare technology would be an advantage
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
