Thornton Gardens provides a person-centred Short Break experience for adults living with Learning Disability and/or complex care needs. We operate four placements for this aspect of our service and a further two on an emergency basis, to support/prevent crisis situations and when the individual is assessed as being at risk under Adult Support and Protection legislation.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our established proactive team here at Thornton Gardens. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and forward-thinking Assistant Resource Centre Manager with experience in assessment of needs, support planning and risk assessment etc.
You will support the Resource Centre Manager in the effective daily running and development of this service, having proven management skills, the ability to provide effective leadership, support the team with professional supervision and development opportunities.
You will have knowledge and experience of supporting this client group, ASP legislation, and managing crisis situations. The post requires an individual who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team of social care staff, Community Care Workers, Learning and Community Nurses etc, to ensure a high standard of care and support for all individuals accessing our service.
You must hold a minimum qualification of SVQ level 3 in social care – SVQ level 4 with Registered Managers Award or Diploma in Social Work, Nursing or Occupational therapy would be desirable.
You must be able to register with the SSSC as a manager in a Care Home Service and hold or obtain the relevant qualification within the regulatory time scale of three years.
You will work 37 hours per week, five days a week, including evenings and weekends.
This post is temporary until March 2027 due to service requirement.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
