Join Our Facilities Team – Building Services Officer
Are you an experienced operational leader with a strong background in facilities services? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact across multiple service areas? We’re looking for a motivated and organised Building Services Officer to join our Facilities (Soft FM) team, supporting services across the Falkirk Council estate.
This role has a primary focus on Janitorial and Logistics services. However, due to the operational nature of the post, you will also provide support across the full Facilities service, including Catering and Cleaning, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to service delivery.
What You’ll Do:
- Co-ordinate day-to-day delivery of Janitorial and Logistics services, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective operations
- Provide leadership and direction to operational teams, maintaining high standards of performance and professionalism
- Support service delivery across Catering and Cleaning where required, ensuring continuity of service across all facilities functions
- Monitor and improve service performance, implementing initiatives to enhance delivery standards
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure services meet agreed specifications and customer expectations
- Manage resources, equipment and materials to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, promoting safe working practices at all times
- Support workforce planning, training and development to maintain professional standards
- Monitor budgets, process requisitions and oversee financial procedures in line with Council requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- HND in Facilities Management, Hospitality, or a relevant professional qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Experience managing front-line service teams in a facilities or public sector environment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and relevant regulations
- Ability to analyse performance data and produce reports to support service improvement
- A proactive approach to problem solving and service delivery
The Role:
- Location: Based at Community Stadium working across council
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Days: Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 8pm
- Contract: Full Year, Permanent
- Line Management: Supervisors across Facilities services
- Reporting to: Facilities Manager (Soft FM)
