Falkirk Champs works with care experienced young people to use their voice to challenge the perceptions and assumptions that limit changes to the care system. This work contributes to Falkirk’s commitment to fulfil its corporate parenting duties and meet the outcomes and ambitions of Scotland’s Promise. 

We are looking for a CLD Support Worker to help us take forward the work of Falkirk’s dynamic and developing Champions’ Board. In this role, you will

  • Work as part of a small team
  • Plan and deliver a range of learning and development opportunities that build the confidence and core skills of care experienced young people.
  • Provide support to young people to participate in Falkirk Champs activities

This exciting opportunity requires someone who is passionate about making a difference and is able to demonstrate a knowledge of:

  • Issues affecting young people who are in care or leaving care
  • The care system in Scotland
  • Children’s Rights and Child Protection issues
  • Current policy and practice in relation to children and young people encountering the care system

It is expected that you will:

  • be registered or will work towards registration with the Community Learning and Development Standards Council.

You will work 18.5 hours per week.

This post is temporary until March 2027 due to service requirement.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
