Working within Children’s Services Community Learning & Development (CLD) function as part of our Youth Work and Schools Team, you will be responsible for delivering CLD services, in line with key national and local strategic priorities.
Working with secondary schools, you will work with young people in school and community-based settings. You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will have a knowledge and practical understanding of local and national quality assurance processes and developments in working with young people. You will have strong communication skills and the commitment to an integrated team approach. You will require a Degree/Diploma in Community Education and/or other CeVe endorsed qualifications.
The post will involve working with young people who have complex additional support needs and their families. The successful candidate must be willing to learn alternative communication methods such as Makaton or use of visuals. The role will support young people to develop skills and independence in working towards a positive destination beyond school and bringing our families along on this journey. The successful candidate will undertake MAYBO training in de-escalation techniques for working with young people who experience dysregulated behaviour.
This post is temporary until July 2025 due to service requirement.
