Falkirk Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer and Business Support Assistant to join our Communities, Innovation & Housing (CIH) admin team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy, varied environment and is committed to delivering an excellent standard of service to both internal and external customers.

About the Role

As a Customer and Business Support Assistant, you will play an essential part in providing high‑quality front-line and business support services across CIH. You’ll handle a wide range of administrative and customer-focused tasks, ensuring that enquiries and activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with established procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver consistent, responsive, and high‑quality customer and business support via phone, email, face‑to‑face, online systems, and written correspondence.
  • Carry out clerical and administrative duties in line with policies, working practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support colleagues across different Council Services to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of systems, procedures, and processes.
  • Interpret a wide range of information and determine appropriate actions, escalating issues where needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and council policies.
  • Promote equality, wellbeing, and fairness in all interactions.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, accuracy, and a strong customer‑service approach. You will ideally have:

Essential

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • SVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience in office administration
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to plan and organise your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of data protection requirements

Desirable

  • Analytical skills
  • Experience working in the public sector or a political environment
