We are inviting applications from talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our Corporate Procurement Unit as a Customer and Business Support Officer on a full-time permanent basis.

You’ll be part of a successful and well-respected team, helping to deliver an effective procurement service. You’ll work with people across Falkirk Council and with a wide range of external organisations.

  • Undertake advanced administrative tasks and duties to support colleagues and customers in line with established procedures, working practices, policies, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the highest standard of customer service and best value delivery
  • Help improve the systems, processes and procedures we use, from design through to delivery.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the Corporate Procurement Unit.

What we are looking for…

The ideal person for this role will be:

  • Be educated to SVQ level 3 / HNC or equivalent or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of legislation and/or best practice affecting the provision of services.
  • Exercise highly developed communication skills in order to convince others to adopt changes, streamlined processes and procedures with tact and diplomacy.
  • Have planning skills along with sound organisational skills.
  • Have highly developed IT skills in order to analyse, manipulate and present complex data and an understanding of the benefits of technology in developing efficient processes.
  • Have experience of working in an environment of change and challenge, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.
