Are you looking for a role where your technical expertise makes a real difference to communities? Falkirk Council is seeking a Estimator/Quantity surveyor to join our Building Maintenance Division on a maternity cover basis.

In this role, you will:

• Support in inspecting and surveying housing stock to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Respond to technical queries from the public, council staff, and elected members.
• Liaise with external contractors and agencies to ensure work meets specification and deadlines.
• Authorise payments, carry out spot checks, and monitor quality standards.
• Investigate complaints and provide clear, professional reports.

You will work closely with our Mixed Tenure Team, playing a key role in managing communal repairs across mixed tenure properties. This collaboration ensures that shared spaces are maintained to the highest standards, benefiting all residents and fostering positive community relations.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer care abilities.
• Relevant technical experience and ideally an HNC in Construction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A full driving licence is essential.

This post is temporary until October 2026 to cover maternity leave.
