Inspire, Lead and Make a Difference in Falkirk's ambitious new Entertainment Project.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join Falkirk Council’s Sport, Leisure & Culture Team in a pivotal role of Town Hall Project Development Manager.
Working as part of a passionate and ambitious service, you will play a pivotal role in our new £70m new Falkirk Town Hall Project. The project will deliver a new and exciting Town Hall by 2029, bringing a new 550 seat regional theatre alongside a dynamic studio theatre to the area. Additionally, the site will combine many service activities such as Libraries, Community and Arts teams alongside our civic administration functions. The ambition is to make this venue one local people can be truly proud of.
You will work with the Senior Manager, Project team and Cultural Services team to develop the building design, programme and operating models, focussed on re-establishing Falkirk and this exciting venue on the entertainment circuit and providing a home for a wide range of innovative and meaningful cultural and civic activity. The town hall will serve as a sustainable and innovative exemplar of collaborative multi service delivery which is impactful, supports health and wellbeing outcomes for our communities whilst delivering high-quality customer experiences.
As the Project Development manager, your will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership in developing the future venue design, programme, catering offer and activities which maximise revenue streams to bring down building operational costs.
- Work with the Project team to deliver design feedback, advice on the requirements, liaise with consultants to ensure the Town Hall is an attractive venue appealing to the local, touring and hiring market. Aiming to provide the broadest possible programme for the area including exploring emerging engagement activities i.e. E-gaming etc.
- You will ensure that the building design and operational model is able to accommodate a wide range of innovative income generating activity balancing community need with commercial viability.
- Ensure public and future user groups are consulted and informed of progress, and this consultation shapes the venue into something which delivers for the needs of local people.
- Develop plans which are operationally efficient, sustainable and focused on income growth and participation engaging with potential 3rd sector and commercial partners.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to develop products which maximise community impact, and develop new opportunities.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a proven track record in leading operations and delivering transformational change within Cultural Services.
- Has a deep knowledge of the National cultural landscape and experience working in partnership with funders, local authorities, 3rd sector organisations and the arts and youth arts communities.
- Brings an established network of contacts and a clear understanding of the work required to open a new venue.
- Brings strong leadership skills with experience in programme design, workforce development and performance negotiations.
- Understands compliance, risk, and health & safety to ensure safe and sustainable operations.
- Demonstrates strong financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to balance service quality and efficiency.
- Is resilient, forward-thinking, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for our communities through Culture, Leisure & Arts.
